What’s The First Thing You Do When You Don’t Know Where To Go?

You get directions!

If I dropped you off in an unknown city and told you to go to a certain restaurant how will you find the place?

Let’s start with the options you have:

  1. You can get a map and try to find your way
  2. You can ask a local for help and then find your way according to the directions he gives Or
  3. You can ask a local to take you there

Pretty easy right?

It is much better than spending hours and hours of your time finding the place by going around the streets.

Makes sense doesn’t it?

Then why is it when people start a business or try to learn something new,
they don’t go and find directions instead they think they can find the way on their own?

The reason most people in their field or their business fail isn’t because luck wasn’t on their side or they didn’t work hard enough

It’s because they didn’t seek any expert guidance on what they should do?

Why is this so important?

You can spend all your time doing things you think you should and working hard at them,
but if no one is there to adjust your course and guide you then how in the world would you know if you are getting there or not?

Let’s take a step back and see what the experts do:

Tony Robbins says that the best way to excel in anything is to find a person who is a master in that field and then model them (Do not steal it).

History has proven that every great man or woman needs someone as their teacher to guide them.

“When the student is ready the teacher will appear.”_ Unknow

Luke had Yoda, Mark Zuckerberg had Steve Jobs, Oprah Winfrey had Maya Angelou, Dr. Martin Luther King had Dr. Benjamin Mays, Mother Teresa had Father Michael van der Peet, Richard Branson had Sir Freddie Laker and on and on.

Every single successful person I have studied has had someone to guide him in one way or another.

How can you go and find mentors when you are starting out?

Getting Started? Don’t know what to do?

Here’s what I recommend:

If you don’t have any money:

1. Read books: You can find pdf and ebooks online almost for free, you can go to your local library or you can buy cheap books from a second-hand bookstore.

2. Youtube Videos: If you can read this right now then you can go to Youtube right now and watch videos and learn from them.

3. Blogs: Read blogs, people share a lot of valuable information in their daily blogs

4. Podcasts: Listen to podcasts, specifically go to those podcasts that are relevant to what you are looking for.

If you have some money:

5. Buy A Program: Find the best person in your field or the field you want to go in and get their programs and whatever they offer.

They have spent a huge amount of time making it and it will definitely give you a lot of value.

If you have a lot of money:

6. Hire A Coach/Mentor: This isn’t karate kid where Mr.Miyagi would teach you for free and would only want respect from you.

If someone is making 50,000$ per week then why would they spend their time with you?

You have to give them a reason and you have to respect their time by paying for it and then hanging on to every single word they say.

Or you can try finding your location without a map or guiding hand and see where it leads you…(NOT RECOMMENDED)

I have been on both sides of the road and trust me it is much better to have someone guide you rather than going at it alone.
