How should one live his life?

This question has been answered by philosophers and thinkers of all ages.

Religions have tried to find out the answer and gotten close to it,

But personally, as if everyone tried their best but no single place holds all the answers.

Yet, answer or no answer we must come up with some conclusion and help you with that I am going to mention 3 books below.

These 3 books have influenced my thinking and made me the person I am now and going to be.

These are the books I would recommend that you have on your rereading list and read at least once every 6 months.

1. The Obstacle Is the Way: The Timeless Art of Turning Adversity to Advantage by Ryan Holiday

I read this book when I was facing a low time in my life and it helped me get across it.

The foundation of this book is built on stoicism which has been the go-to method of leaders of all ages.

This book provides the formula for success that’s been followed by the icons of history.

From John D. Rockefeller to Amelia Earhart to Ulysses S. Grant to Steve Jobs.

A formula that let them turn obstacles into opportunities.

“The obstacle in the path becomes the path. Never forget, within every obstacle is an opportunity to improve our condition.”

― Ryan Holiday, The Obstacle Is the Way: The Timeless Art of Turning Adversity to Advantage

2. The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck: A Counterintuitive Approach to Living a Good Life

by Mark Manson

Being positive all the time is not the answer, searching for happiness will lead you to unhappiness.

The center premise of this book is that we humans have limited attention spans.

So there are only so many things we can give a f**k about so we need to figure out which ones really matter.

Not just that, Mark Manson also gives his No-BS-Straight-To-The-Face approach to relationships, love, and destiny.

This book leads me to find my core values which I care about and letting go of other stuff.

I realized that our struggles determine our success and it is no use complaining about what is happening.

Because in reality, it is there for a purpose and that purpose is to grow us and help us change.

“You and everyone you know are going to be dead soon. And in the short amount of time between here and there, you have a limited amount of fucks to give. Very few, in fact. And if you go around giving a fuck about everything and everyone without conscious thought or choice — well, then you’re going to get fucked.”

― Mark Manson, The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck: A Counterintuitive Approach to Living a Good Life

3. Fallen Leaves: Last Words on Life, Love, War, and God by Will Durant

Will Durant is a aPulitzer prize winner for his amazing writing on history in the book The Story Of Civilization.

Which shows the history in a chronological order.

In this book, Will Durant gives his thoughts on topics such as Life, Living, Society, etc.

T his book provides a short and quick take on all major topics and what philosophy or in this case Will Durant thinks about it.

“The fear of death is strangely mingled with the longing for repose.”

― Will Durant, Fallen Leaves: Last Words on Life, Love, War, and God

Here are some other notable mentions:

The story of philosophy by Will Durant:

The portrayal of all major minds in history and their views in a short form.

That’s all for today,

Let me know in the comments section if you want any other book recommendation about any topic.
